In each story you’ll find:

  • No “bad guys” or monsters
  • No weapons or violence
  • Lots of good, clean, fun!

The themes that carry through the books include friendship, perseverance, problem-solving, bravery, teamwork and encouragement. The central characters include Jack (you can read more about our main character below), his younger sister Emma who is an excitable, strong, confident and savvy young girl who loves nature, gymnastics and anything adventurous, and, Albert, Jack’s best friend and next-door-neighbor who is very studious, cool and calm under pressure, thoughtful and reliable.

These books are ideal for children new to chapter books (ages 6-8) as well as those who are at an intermediate level of reading chapter books independently (ages 9-12). There are detailed full-page black and white illustrations to complement the story and provide some familiarity for those who are moving away from picture-heavy story-books and first readers.
